We’re excited to announce today that Luc Vincent, VP of Engineering at Lyft and former Director of Engineering at Google, has joined our Advisory Board. While at Google, Luc took Larry Page’s idea of mapping the world in pictures from a Google moonshot to a global Street View fleet, making street-level imagery accessible to hundreds of millions of daily users. He joins Aclima as an advisor to scale our environmental mapping capabilities in the U.S. and abroad.

Davida, Aclima’s CEO told Aclimators that “Luc is a friend, one of my personal heroes, and an incredibly good human being. We are privileged to have Luc working with us, advocating for us, and advising our team.”

Since 2014, Aclima has partnered with Google to equip Street View cars with our environmental sensing platform to collect high resolution, air quality data. Luc’s work at Google Street View pioneered new tools to explore our world through the power of imagery. A decade later, Aclima is building on that pioneering effort to power a new layer of environmental intelligence to map the quality of the air we breathe at the street-level.

Luc says his reasons to come on board are grounded in mission and innovation. “This entirely new data from Aclima’s innovative technology unlocks a new understanding of how we interact with our environment and the world. Aclima’s team has spent years developing and validating tools that are transforming our relationship with our planet. I’m thrilled to join the team and help scale Aclima’s technology around the world.”

We’re glad to have Luc on our team. Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks and watch the video below to learn more about Luc and why he joined our Advisory Board.
